Print RecipeIngredients
- 10g Panko Breadcrumbs
- 225g Pork Sausage Meat
- 2 Burger Buns
- 120g Coleslaw Mix
- 30g Mature Cheddar Cheese
- 64g BBQ Sauce
- Mayonnaise
- 450g Potatoes
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Wedges
Start by preheating your oven to 200°C. Cut the potatoes into 2cm wide wedges without peeling them. Place the wedges on a large baking tray, drizzle with oil, and season with salt and pepper. Toss the wedges to ensure they’re well-coated, then spread them out in a single layer. Roast the wedges on the top shelf of your oven until they turn golden, which should take about 25-30 minutes. Remember to turn the wedges halfway through the cooking time. If necessary, use two baking trays to ensure the wedges are spread out nicely.
Step 2: Prepare the Burgers
In a bowl, combine the sausage meat and panko breadcrumbs, and season with black pepper. Mix the ingredients with your hands, then shape the mixture into one patty per person. Remember to wash your hands after handling raw meat. Heat a splash of oil in a large frying pan. Once the oil is hot, add the sausage burgers and fry until they are browned and cooked through, which should take about 5-6 minutes on each side. The burgers are cooked when they are no longer pink in the middle.
Step 3: Prepare the Slaw
While the burgers are cooking, mix the coleslaw mix and mayonnaise in a bowl. Season the mixture to taste with salt and pepper, then mix again. Grate the cheddar cheese and set it aside for later.
Step 4: Glaze the Burgers
After the burgers are cooked, remove the pan from the heat and add the BBQ sauce to the pan. Move the burgers around in the pan to ensure they are coated in the sauce. Evenly distribute the grated cheese over the tops of the burgers, then cover your pan with a lid or some foil. Allow the cheese to melt for about 3-4 minutes.
Step 5: Toast the Buns
When the wedges have about 2 minutes left to cook, cut the burger buns in half and place them on the middle shelf of your oven to warm through.
Step 6: Serve the Meal
Place the buns on your plates and add a burger to each one. Serve the wedges on the side and divide the slaw between your plates. Enjoy your meal!
